As a 25 year tenent of Pier 17 I made similar points to a release yesterday by the architects for GGP in regard to their design. These people are paid to design, again and again, using all kinds of excuses why something should be made defunct.

Even McNaughtons reference to the Seaport "stank" as an excuse. GGP is from Chicago, what would he know, he most likely never even visited the Seaport since 1985 when the Pier 17 opened. Well I was there that first day and did $10,000 in sales and tenants paid to clean the streets daily sice then. What a stupid comment, but typical of "Developers" looking for excuses.
