The 2013 Landmarks Lion honoring Hugh & Tiziana Hardy was a great success. The event was held on the 58th floor of the Empire State Building on Tuesday November 19, 2013. As guest entered they were greeted by a view of the beautiful orange moon rising over the Chrysler building. The raw space was quickly filled by 200 guests. The design of the loft-like space included images of historic neighborhoods throughout the city projected unto the white walls and displayed as cut-outs on the tables. Past Planning Commissioner Joseph B. Rose, and past Landmarks Commissioners Kent Barwick, and Laurie Beckleman each praised the Hardys for their dedication to preserving what makes New York so special. Special guest and friend of the Hardys, Broadway and film legend, Joel Grey regaled the guests with a rendition of ‘Give My Regards to Broadway’. It was a great pleasure for the Historic Districts Council to celebrate the Hardys in such an iconic landmark. Thank you and congratulation to Hugh and Tiziana.
