Winter Garden staircase
Brookfield Properties plans to demolish the beautiful staircase in the
Winter Garden at the World Trade Center as part of its redevelopment of the
Winter Garden in light of the new tunnel that is being built under the
Westside Highway to connect the new Trade Center to the Winter garden.
The grand staircase was rebuilt within one year of the destruction of the
World Trade Center with an extraordinary effort by Italy mining the
matching marble. It is magnificent and should be land marked to save it
from
destruction.
