News From Clinton Hill, Rezoning Certified & House Tour Tickets on sale
R6b Zoning Proposal Moves Ahead:
The proposal to change the zoning from R6 to R6b in Clinton Hill and Fort Greene was “certified” by the NYC Planning Commission at its Review Session on Monday, April 23, 2007.
This is a very positive and important step in this community effort to provide additional protection to our neighborhood. This puts the effort on a specific time line with hearings and reviews by the Community Board 2, Borough President’s office, City Planning, and finally the City Council.
The Society for Clinton Hill will keep you informed of the progress and will invite you to participate wherever we get the opportunity.
House Tour Ticket Sales
The Society for Clinton Hill 30th Anniversary House Tour will happen on Sunday, May 6, noon to 5 pm. Buy your tickets early and save money.
The tour is very special in that it includes private homes and several of the original Pratt mansions that are rarely open to the public. These mansions are beautifully maintained and very intact. You will be thrilled by the detail and the opportunity to see a little of the life style of the families that did so much for this community. The Pratts were patrons of the arts, the churches, education, and architecture. These buildings have been preserved and adaptively reused by St. Joseph’s College and Pratt Institute. This is a rare opportunity. Don’t miss it.
