One of the Historic Districts Council's
most important programs is our newsletter, District Lines, which
is produced three times a year. Published regularly since 1987,
District Lines highlights current preservation issues throughout
New York City. Recent issues have reported on the illegal demolition
of Dorothy Day’s cottage in Staten Island, as well as the
issue of hardship claims caused by the Landmarks Law, in addition
to reporting on HDC’s programs and activities. Special care
is given to highlight broader issues of preservation that have an
impact on public policy.
