Manhattan Landmarks-Stuyvesant Square

Stuyvesant Square

Stuyvesant Square was laid out in 1836, and the earliest existing houses in the district date to 1842-1843. These Greek Revivals were joined over the decade by elegant Gothic Revival, Italianate, and French Renaissance row houses and turn-of-the-century apartment houses in neo-Renaissance styles.
