Far Rockaway Beachside Bungalows Tour Added for August!

Those were the days…

Because the demand for the  Far Rockaway Beachside Bungalows walking tour was beyond what we had expected, HDC  has decided to add ANOTHER BUNGALOWS OF ROCKAWAY EVENT in August! The walking tour is scheduled for August 25th at 10:30am.  We will cover the same grounds as the event planned for Saturday, July 14th.  Purchase your tickets NOW because  spots will fill quickly.  Please contact HDC at 212.614.9107  or [email protected] with any additional questions.  We look forward to seeing you there.

  1. Could you tell me if the tour is on sand or cement and how much walking is involved? I am interested but have knee problems and do not know what it entails for walking. Thank you.

    1. Dear Ms. Holloway,

While there is not a lot of walking on the walking tour – it does cover a number of streets in Far Rockaway. During the last tour, we were able to visit a number of private homes – so stairs might also be involved.

I hope you will be able to join us – but we wanted you to understand the situation.

Thank you so much for your interest and please call us at 212 614-9107 if you have any more questions.

      1. Hi-Don’t understand of what this is a tour . Private homes with stairs? Are we talking about the (whatever remaining) beach bungalows?

        1. In terms of walking there is not a great deal. The tour starts at the boardwalk with a short history of the area then the tour guide will walk you around the area, and into several of the remaining Bungalows.
