Meet at Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve, Nielsen Avenue and Carlin Street, off Sharrotts Road

Kreischerville, the community we now call Charleston, is rich in history! Discover brick baron Balthazar Kreischer’s famous 19th century riverside factory; the Androvette family and their maritime activities; and historic homes, landscapes, and cemeteries. A special discussion on the NYS Park, Clay Pit Ponds State Park Preserve will focus on wildlife, habitats, clay mining activities relative to nature, and rare and endangered species of the Park Preserve. Wear
comfortable shoes although it will not be a long walk. A specially prepared box lunch will be enjoyed by all.
