International Landmscape Design Lectures at Columbia
Columbia University’s Master of Science in Landscape Design and Garden Design magazine invite you to attend two evenings of talks in June and July about international landscape design with noted landscape architects and writers.

Mentored by the late Burle Marx, Raymond Jungles spent countless hours with him in Brazil and is intimately acquainted with the projects he will present in an illustrated lecture. With Miami as home base, Jungles works throughout the United States and beyond. Current projects include the New World Symphony concert hall in Miami with architect Frank Gehry.
Sasha Tarnopolsky, a landscape architect and co-founder of Dry Design in Los Angeles, has been the recipient of design awards from Garden Design magazine and consistently influences landscape design through her many sustainable residential and commercial projects, including the Lengau Lodge in South Africa.
Donna Dorian recently traveled to Morocco with landscape architect Topher Delaney to explore historic and contemporary gardens. Dorian is a veteran writer and longtime editor at Garden Design, and looks forward to returning to Columbia University, where she earned a master’s degree in poetry.
Susan Lowry and Nancy Berner are the authors of Garden Guide: New York City (Random House).
Columbia University’s Master of Science in Landscape Design program prepares students for careers as landscape designers specializing in residential and smaller-scale projects. Classes are offered in the evening and on Saturday to meet the needs of working professionals or those in career transition. Graduates of Columbia’s program enter the profession with a deep understanding of how space and plant materials may be creatively manipulated to express human values and emotions. The M.S. in Landscape Design is now accepting applications for the fall 2007 semester.
