The History of Staten Island: Walk Port Richmond, Saturday, May 8, 11 a.m.

Port Richmond has historically been a community that evolves. Both residential and commercial it continues to draw new residents and visitors who are captivated by its rich past. During this outing we will observe and discuss houses of worship, a 17th century burial ground, movie palaces of the past, our architectural heritage, immigration trends, famous Port Richmond personalities, Port Richmond’s retail past, the role of the waterfront, business and industry and much more! The walking tour is hosted by Curator of History, Patricia M. Salmon.

Meet at 120 Anderson Avenue in front of the CYO building. Cost: $15/$10 members. Exact change is welcome. The tour is level and approximately 1.75 miles. Advance registration is required. Please call 718.483.7123.
