96th – 110th Street Survey Project Update

The LANDMARK WEST! volunteer survey crew has been hard at work, and we’ve got the photos to prove it!

Over a dozen lovers of the Upper West Side have volunteered their cameras, their time and their fascination for architecture to the LW! 96th to 110th Street Survey Project. Visit our website to see examples of completed survey forms and photography of the architectural resources of the Upper West Side between 96th and 110th Streets.

With just an hour’s training and a drive to discover, volunteers have been able to complete survey forms which will help to inform and develop LW’s advocacy efforts, leading to better recognition of this area’s diversity and value. With more blocks nearing their final stages of surveying, we’re really making progress!

Volunteers from our own Westside backyard as well as The Bronx and the Upper East Side have come together to give this project incredible momentum. To date, four blocks in the survey area have been completed, with over a handful more expected in the forthcoming weeks. Keep your eyes on the survey map on our website to see how things move forward.
