  1. Can you give more details please? Greenwood is a big place. Where exactly does the scavenger hunt start? What time of time commitment is anticipated for average people? I’d love to do this, but need to know if I can work it into my other commitments for the day.

    1. Hello,
You can pick up a clue sheet at the western entrance of Green-Wood cemetery, at 4th Avenue and 35th Street. Take the ‘D’,’N’, or ‘R’ train to 36th Street. I will be there from 11:30 am – 1pm.
      Hope you can make it!

  2. the battle of long island was the FIRST revolutionary war battle after the signing of the Declaration of Independence – so that makes it the first battle of the new nation (sorry bunker hill…lol)

  4. Sorry not to make it. * Where can I get a copy of that map/poster of the battle? I had some ancestors who fought in that battle (I think we lost – Oops.).

    * I need to fill out the “Six to Celebrate” entry for Forest Close, Queens (near Forest Hills) by Nov. 1!
