Designated May 17, 2005
This building was designated a city landmark in May 2005 mainly due to the eminent man that lived in it from 1951 to 1988, Ralph Bunche. At a time when African Americans in the US were segregated, Buncke rose in the Government rankings, becoming the highest-ranking African American in the United Stated Department. He was also the first African American to obtain a doctorate degree from the political science department at Harvard University. This house was built in 1927 with a neo-Tudor style
