Believe it or not Staten Island is home to numerous forgotten, hidden, or unknown burial grounds. Eighteenth century residents are buried under Port Richmond Avenue; an Androvette Family Homestead Graveyard exists under Cornelia Avenue in Prince’s Bay; immigrant cemeteries once “thrived” at Saint George, Prince’s Bay, and Silver Lake. People really are buried at the 18th hole of the Silver Lake Golf Course! This talk will be followed by a tour of the oldest section of Moravian Cemetery with Richard L. Simpson. Some of those buried therein may even come to life!
