New! “Financial Incentives for Historic Buildings” Brochure Released by HDC

From tax state and federal tax credits to low-interest loans, there exists a number of financial incentives and support available to help purchase, maintain and restore historic properties. City, state and national preservation offices and commissions, as well as nonprofit organizations, offer resources to ease the costs of home repairs and restorations. To qualify, buildings generally must be locally designated by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission, either as an individual landmark or as part of a historic district, or must be listed on the New York State or National Register of Historic Places.

HDC’s newest brochure, now available on our website and in print, provides an overview of the variety and sources of this assistance, compiling important information from a range of agencies and organizations into one, easy to understand publication, complete with contact information and basic eligibility requirements.
