As part of this year’s Six to Celebrate program, HDC is undertaking a citywide initiative exploring the potential for historic hotels in New York City that could be adaptively reused as housing. Across the five boroughs, many historic hotels—whether vacant, underused, or operating in transitional capacities—represent significant opportunities to address housing needs while preserving important architectural and cultural resources.
To prove this, HDC has been working on Case Studies to learn best practices of preserving historic hotels as they are converted to housing. And we would like your input to make sure we have the best possible sample size.
