Preservation School is a series of classes that illuminate the essentials of historic preservation. The classes are designed to cover the basics over four sessions to give participants an overall understanding of such topics as land use planning and building types in New York City, and instruct hands-on skills, including how to read architectural drawings and how to best research and photograph buildings. We have made seven of our most essential classes available on our YouTube channel. Happy studying!
HDC offers two four-session semesters of Preservation School annually, with new classes and subjects each year. Please check our Calendar of Events and Programs to see when the next session is scheduled.
