Wallabout Designated

The Brooklyn neighboorhood of Wallabout was designated as a historic district on July 12th! The Historic Districts Council has been advocating for this neighbohood for several years and was very pleased with the designation. The landmarked properties are only a small piece of the historic area proposed by the community in a cultural resource survey, and interesting industrial buildings remain just north of the district, as one commissioner noted. We hope to see the entire area designated in the future.
