Following up on the Peck Slip Redo

From the Downtown Express

The proposed “ghost ship” design for Peck Slip met with unhappy reviews when the Parks Department presented it to Community Board 1’s Seaport Committee on March 13. Neighborhood residents at the meeting asked the Parks Department to redesign the space to create a more park-like atmosphere while still respecting the slip’s historical character. The current design was scheduled to go before the city Landmarks Preservation Commission on March 20, but Parks agreed to hold off and work with the community and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s office to retool the plan.
