These two houses are an intact example of Federal. It was constructed for owner Aaron Dexter, a dry goods merchant who retained ownership of the property until 1846. They exhibit all of the attributes of the federal style houses of the era, and have a steeply pitched roof with double dormers windows, sharing a party wall and central chimney with its neighbor. The façade is clad in Flemish bond brickwork.
