Designated 2/19/1991
A gabled parapet and an elaborate stoop contribute to the grand scale and pleasing proportions of the building and add further distinction to the facade, setting it apart from its neighbors and distinguishing it from the more typical Upper West Side rowhouse form. All of these elements combine to produce a dignified Gothic-inspired design for a house associated with an important religious endeavor in the United States, that of arousing public interest in the holy places of Jerusalem.
