Edward Ridley & Sons Department Store Buildings

The Edward Ridley & Sons Department Store Buildings were once part of the largest department store on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The store was founded by Edward Ridley in 1848. Over the next three decades the business grew by converting mostly residential buildings along the south side of Grand Street and the east side of Allen Street. Its design incorporates simple Art Deco style details.
