J. Kurtz & Sons Store Building

Designated November 24, 1981

This building was erected as a retail store for the Kurtz Company, a retailer company that at the time had three other stores in New York City. It is an example of Art Deco architecture in Queens, and was built to convey a striking image of the Kurtz Company. In 1978, the Kurtz company sold the property to other retailers.
