RKO Keith’s Flushing Theatre Interior

Designated February 28, 1984

The interior of the RKO Keith’s Flushing Theater is a surviving example in New York of the uniquely American institution of the movie palace. It was constructed in “Mexican Baroque” style. Thomas Lamb was one of the country’s most important theatre architects, and he built this theatre as a vaudeville house for the country’s largest vaudeville chain.
