In 1929 the Suffolk Title and Guarantee Company, a company focused in insuring mortgages and bank loans, hired the architecture firm Dennison & Hirons, a firm known for its designs in Art Deco, to build this edifice. The architects used many elements consistent with tall Art Deco buildings, such as continuous vertical piers with recessed windows, decorative spandrels with textured brick designs, and a varied roofline.
