Theater Masque (now the Golden Theater) – Exterior and Interior

Among its significant architectural features are its boldly rusticated ground floor, triple arcade, roof loggia, and classically inspired trim. For a decade the theater was horne to the productions of John Golden, a major figure in the history of American theater, whose name the theater now bears.

The Golden Theater interior is a fine example of the “Modern Spanish.” Among its significant architectural characteristics are its elliptical proscenium arch supported by paired twisted columns, rough stucco walls, Moorish-style panels, and coved ceiling.
