Conozca la historia de emblemas historicos de la Ciudad de Nueva York, mientras exploramos los beneficios y los requisitos para que un legar sean elegible como emblema historico. La presentación también se centrará en el proceso de otorgar status de emblema y proporcionará estudios de casos que ilustren los posibles resultados de este proceso. Learn about the history of NYC’s landmarks law, as we explore the benefits and requirements for buildings and places to be eligible for landmarks designation. The presentation will also focus on the process of giving landmark status to a place and will provide case studies that illustrate possible outcomes for this process. The presentation will be conducted entirely in Spanish and it is catered to Spanish-speaking residents who want to have a better understanding of landmarking in NYC.

Architect Mark Ginsberg of Curtis & Ginsberg will present the firm’s work at Harlem River Houses and other NYCHA campuses to rehabilitate, restore, and renovate the housing and landscapes to make sure the permanently-affordable housing is preserved for the future. Many of these campuses are being recognized for their significance and being places on the National Register of Historic Places. Rehabilitation of these sites includes new energy efficient infrastructure, landscape improvements, and interior and exterior upgrades to all units.
