A virtual conversation about the Fieldston Historic District in The Bronx – October 26

Tuesday, October 26, 2021

5 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Via Zoom

Fieldston was designated a historic district in 2006 and has about 257 houses and buildings in a roughly 140-acre district. It has  a profusion of picturesque revival architectural styles, including the Medieval, English Tudor, Mediterranean, Dutch and Georgian Colonial.

The Fieldston Historic District is one of the few neighborhoods in New York City to be completely privately owned. The streets and common areas are owned by the Fieldston Property Owners’ Association.

The conversation will be led by Sherida Paulsen, who is a former chair of the Landmarks Preservation Commission under the Bloomberg and Giuliani administrations. Sherida is a principal in the PKSB architecture firm.

The conversation will center on the process of achieving landmark status for Fieldston, and the architectural characteristics of this historic district.
