HDC presents the 2021 Landmarks Lion Award to Darren Walker and the Ford Foundation for their inspiring work in preservation over the years. HDC celebrates the foundation’s tasteful, bold renovations to its headquarters on East 42nd Street. From this individual and interior landmark they have championed the National Trust’s African American Cultural Heritage Action Fund and the Art for Justice Fund, created in partnership with Agnes Gund. Mr. Walker’s work and commitment to advancing, cultivating, and celebrating Black history through preserving and celebrating historic places merits recognition through the Landmarks Lion Award.
