The Morrisania neighborhood was the home to many jazz musicians and was also one of the cradles of hip hop in The Bronx. This walking tour will explore the jazz, doo-wop, Latin music, and hip hop history of the neighborhood; as well as some of the social history that has changed the face of the neighborhood, from the fires that raged here in the 1970s and 1980s that led to visits by Presidents Reagan and Carter to the social activism that has built it back up.
