Manhattan Landmarks-West End-Collegiate

West End-Collegiate

This district is generally regarded as the most elaborate and eclectic collection of row houses in the city. These late 19th-century homes draw inspiration for Romanesque, Renaissance, Elizabethan, and Francoise I Revival styles. Eight large apartment buildings also in the district were constructed between 1911 and 1931. They were designed in style and materials to harmonize with the row houses. Designated January 3, 1984.
