Video Tour: Cultural Landmarks of New York City

The Historic Districts Council (HDC) chose Cultural Landmarks as one of the 2018 Six to Celebrate (STC) to shine a light on sites of cultural significance throughout the five boroughs. HDC hopes to broaden the conversation about preservation tools for culturally significant sites and to create an action plan for their proper stewardship. Instead of doing the usual tour series for the Cultural Sites we decided to produce a series of videos. We chose one site in each borough to highlight varies types of cultural importance.

These films were produced as part of HDC’s Six to Celebrate Cultural Landmarks initiative, which examines unprotected sites of cultural significance throughout the five boroughs.

Support was provided in part by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. Additional support is provided by New York City Council Members Margaret Chin, Robert Holden, Corey Johnson, Ben Kallos, Stephen Levin, and Keith Powers.
