A place for children to learn and play after school, a place to teach literacy, a place for people to learn about jobs, a place for musicians to compose and practice, a place for poets to create magic, a place for dancers, painters, writers, and filmmakers, a place for our critical not-for-profit community organizations to call home !!

DAG64 is a coalition of organizations and individuals who have been active in the struggle to save old PS 64 / former Charas.

DAG64’s goal is to conduct a feasibility study and develop a viable plan to restore this landmark to community use. DAG64 will hire a professional consultant to work with the community to develop the plan. Funds raised at this event will be used to hire the consultant.

The Host Committee includes US Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, NYS Senator Martin Connor, City Councilmember Rose Mendez, David McWater – Chair, CB3 (for identification purposes only), Chino Garcia of CHARAS, Inc., and representatives of EVCC, GOLES, LESPMHA, University Settlement, Cooper Square MHA, CODA, District Leader Anthony Feliciano and Democratic State Committeeman Michael Farrin.
