Join the Preservation League of Staten Island on Sunday, October 14, 2007, from 12pm – 5pm for an

Historic House Tour of Westerleigh

Once called Prohibition Park, this community was known far and wide for its temperance activities, as well as its beautiful Victorian houses and bucolic qualities.

Sign in for the tour begins at the Emanuel Church, corner of Jewett Avenue and Maine Avenue. View an assortment of beautiful houses that include a W.A. Lambert designed Shingle-style Victorian with amazing interior details and an original carriage house; an Ernest Flagg English stone cottage; an Arts and Crafts bungalow with original trim and stonework; a James Whitford Dutch Colonial Revival house designed for New York Congressman Anning S. Prall; the exterior of the Edwin Markham House; a Colonial revival home with Arts and Crafts/Tudor influences; a stunning side hall colonial; and the one and only Westerleigh Tennis Club (built 1924).

Cost: $25/$20 Preservation League of Staten Island and Westerleigh Improvement Society members.
