ALERT: DEMOLITION of St Brigid's IN PROGRESS NOW!

This morning the NYC Archdiocese began DEMOLITION of St. Brigid’s, the 1848 Potato Famine Church – Avenue B, between 7th & 8th Streets.
A demolition crew punched an 8 X 8 foot hole in the rear wall,
appear to have worked most of the night destroying the interior, threw much of the interior into the rear yead, destroyed at least one 150 year old stained glass window and are erecting scaffolding along Avenue B.
The Save St. Brigid’s Committee is in court now, challenging the
demolition permit and seeking an injunction to stop the Destruction.
