ALERT: Small Capital Improvements Grants Availible from Cultural Affairs

The Community Arts Development Program sustains its strong commitment to community arts organizations through “Small Capital Improvements Grants” pre-application deadline August 24, 2006.

The Department of Cultural Affairs is pleased to announce a solicitation of proposals for the Community Arts Development Program Small Capital Improvements Grant. DCA regrants Department of Housing and Urban Development funds to support community based arts organizations serving low-income populations. CADP grants support projects that render neighborhood cultural centers functional, accessible and safe. Eligible organizations are those that are located within the five boroughs of New York City, incorporated under New York State law, certified tax exempt under Internal Revenue Service Code Section 501(c)(3), and have as a primary mission the provision of cultural services. Organizations must meet additional City and federal criteria stipulated in the guidelines.

All organizations seeking support must first submit a pre-application, deadline August 24, 2006. Organizations applying early will receive an eligibility determination within 10 days of submission. Only eligible applicants may submit a full proposal, deadline September 12, 2006.
