Bed Stuy takes the Lead in the Greenest Block in Brooklyn Competition

HDC’s own Six To Celebrate neighborhood Bedford-Stuyvesant is taking the lead in the 2011 Greenest Block in Brooklyn competition! Ten of the thirty-six semifinalist are from Bed-Stuy; making it the neighborhood with the most contestants. Claudette Brady,  a neighborhood preservationist and contributor to Bed-Stuy Patch, recently wrote an article praising the success of the contest this year. In her article, Bed-Stuy Goes Big for Greenest Block she notes that fifty Bed-Stuy communities participated in the contest this year, which is the greatest number from any one neighborhood ever. The winners will be announced August 3rd. You can view all the semi-finalists on the Brooklyn Botanic Garden website. HDC would like to congratulate the residents of Bed-Stuy for making it a neighborhood worth celebrating. Good luck!
