Surgeon’s House, Brooklyn Navy Yard

The Brooklyn Navy Yard’s Surgeon’s House follows the style of the French Second Empire, with its low, concave mansard roof and dormer windows. It is a two-story brick structure divided into two main sections, the house proper and a servant’s wing, totaling sixteen rooms.

Brooklyn Navy Yard

The Brooklyn Navy Yard was established in 1801. From the early 1810s through the 1960s, it was an active shipyard for the United States Navy. There are four Individual Landmarks in the Navy Yard.
