EVENT: Architectural Exhibit on Modern Architecture & Historic Districts
An architectural exhibit created exclusively for the Fort Greene House Tour and certain to provoke conversation looks at how architects consider a historical context when designing modern structures. The perimeter of the Fort Greene Historic District is soon to be home to work from some of the top architects working in the world today. There are already examples of modernism in recently completed residential projects. And if you look closely at the details, modernism can be seen throughout the Historic District.
The exhibit Fort Greene Modern, curated by Annie Coggan, will feature models and plans for architectural designs by some of world’s most renowned practitioners, including Enrique Norten, Hugh Hardy, and Arquitectonica.
Opening Sunday, May 7, 2006 noon-5pm for Fort Greene House Tour Ticket holders. The exhibition will have a free public viewing on Monday, May 8, from 9am-5pm. Location: Irondale Center, 85 South Oxford Street, between Lafayette and Fulton, in Fort Greene Brooklyn.
