EVENT: Dance at Alice Austen House, 7/29

Isadora Duncan Dances at the Alice Austen House, Saturday, July 29, at 6:30 PM

Duncan and Austen are two extraordinary turn-of-the-century female artists who created new ways to experience the world around us. Now, for the first time, these two creative forces come together for one amazing evening. Don’t miss it.

Isadora Duncan, represented by Lori Belilove & Company, will perform a program centered around nature. The performance consists of solo and group work from the Duncan repertory and offers a window into the life and unique artistry of Isadora, the Mother of Modern Dance. Alice Austen, represented by Debbie Giaramita, will make a rare appearance to talk about her life and art.

The outdoor performance takes place on the front lawn of the Austen House with its spectacular view that stretches from the Statue of Liberty and lower Manhattan to Brooklyn and the Verrazano Bridge. The weather looks promising so bring a chair, a blanket, a pick-nick basket, and enjoy.

To help us cover some of the costs, we ask for a $5 donation.
