EVENT: Queens Community Board has Another Meeting on Sunnyside Landmarks, January 17th

You may not have received an announcement, so please make note that Community Board 2 is holding a hearing next Wednesday with representatives from the Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC), the Buildings Department, and the Department of City Planning. The topic is the preservation of Sunnyside Gardens.

Time: Wednesday, January 17, 7 PM
Place: Sunnyside Community Services, 43-31 39th Street (2nd floor)

Over the past two decades or longer, we have attended many Community Board hearings on Sunnyside Gardens. Now, for the first time, the Landmarks Commission is invited, and they offer the solution we need.

1) IF YOU ARE IN FAVOR of Landmarks designation, it is very important to attend, to show the Community Board and these City agencies that you and your neighbors support Landmarks designation for Sunnyside Gardens.

2) Please reply to this e-mail if you expect to attend. Please let us know if you need a ride.

3) RIGHT AWAY, please send a short, quick e-mail saying,
“Dear Landmarks Preservation Commission, I strongly favor Landmarks designation for Sunnyside Gardens and urge that our neighborhood be calendared right away.”
You may add creative touches if you like, but don’t miss this chance to make your voice heard– by the LPC, Councilman Gioia, Community Board 2, Borough Hall, Assemblywomen Nolan and Markey, and the Sunnyside Gardens Preservation Alliance (these addresses are provided below).
