Expanding the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District!
18 years after its first hearing, the proposed Bedford-Stuyvesant/Expanded Stuyvesant Heights Historic District had an overwhelmingly positive hearing on Tuesday August 2nd– in fact, no one had a negative word to say. A packed room of supporters included elected officials, preservation advocates and proud residents, and calls were made for further landmarking in the neighborhood. HDC offers a hearty congratulation to the Bedford-Stuyvesant Society for Historic Preservation, with whom HDC has been working as one of our Six to Celebrate neighborhood partners, for their fine work spreading the word and interest in landmarking the district.
