HDC's Executive Director Profiled in New York Times

This weekend, the Metropolitan Section of The New York Times profiled HDC Executive Director Simeon Bankoff about his Sunday Routine, which includes visiting historic neighborhoods and sites such as Green-Wood Cemetery.

Recently, HDC testified before City Council supporting Green-Wood’s proposed purchase of the landmark McGovern-Weir Florist greenhouse right outside their gates.  The cemetery intends on giving the building a much-need restoration and using it as a visitor and information center.  The Council approved the sale last Thursday (public approval was necessary because of a state law involving cemetery usage) and the cemetery hopes to be closing on the building very soon.
