Join HDC on a FREE tour of the Madison Square North Historic District. It’s hot out and we need things to keep us happy so we don’t curse the sun gods, so come have fun and learn some history. For such a tiny district it possesses a rich and amusing history from some of the Gilded Age’s grandest hotels to the first commercial motion picture exhibition to notorious music halls. In addition to the obligatory Stanford White murder discussion, you will also learn about recent preservation successes and failures.
Fear not though, we will not have you suffering in the inferno for long. The tour will be approximately one hour followed by a cash-bar happy hour at Green Square Tavern!
So put on your walking shoes, and your drinking sunglasses and join us on August 9th at 5 p.m.!!
