Midtown Powerhouse Preservation Efforts Take Off!

Today we filed with the Landmarks Preservation Commission a formal request to designate the IRT Powerhouse a New York City Landmark. A copy of the proposal is attached. Due to its file size, a complete copy of the exhibits referenced in the proposal and submitted to the LPC will be available on our website soon. The address is www.hudsonriverpowerhouse.com.
Today also marks the official debut of our website where you and other supporters of the Powerhouse can go to learn more about the building and follow the progress of the landmarking campaign. You can also sign the petition to landmark the Powerhouse. Once again, the address is www.hudsonriverpowerhouse.com. We encourage you to forward this e-mail or the link to the petition to your friends and fellow New Yorkers. The more signatures we have to present to the LPC, the better.
As many of you have noticed, the Powerhouse has started to garner the attention of the New York media.
