Monday, April 5: Advocating for Parks and Open Space

8:30am, Neighborhood Preservation Center, 232 East 11th Street, Manhattan

Join Cheryl Huber, deputy director, from the independent advocacy group, New Yorkers for Parks, who will discuss the ways in which to raise awareness about the importance of community parks and creating a greener, safer neighborhood. Topics will range from improving the level of park maintenance to creating adequate recreational facilities, with a special emphasis on advocating for historic parks, which serve as important neighborhood anchors. With the current fiscal crisis, parks budgets across the city are in danger so please join us and learn more about how to preserve your local park!

This event is FREE to the public. Reservations are required, as space is limited. For more information, please contact Frampton Tolbert at (212) 614-9107 or [email protected].

The Neighborhood Partners Program is sponsored, in part, by Deutsche Bank, Lily Auchincloss Foundation, Assembly Members Jonathan L. Bing, Deborah J. Glick, Richard N. Gottfried and Daniel J. O’Donnell, and State Senators Thomas K. Duane, Liz Krueger & Diane J. Savino.
