New Community Group in Brooklyn

Was contacted a few weeks ago by a Windsor Terrace resident who was interested in setting up an umbrella organization in Windsor Terrace for neighbors to discuss the many community issues (education, traffic safety, development, beautification, etc.) and wanted to know how CCGH and SPSCG got their start and kept our community base.

Glad to announce that Lauren and her group are now on-line at http://windsorterracealliance.org/ and seems they have defined their mission quite well:

The Windsor Terrace Alliance (WTA) was formed to give a strong voice to residents, community groups, and businesses of Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn, on issues such as education, traffic, appropriate residential and commercial development, neighborhood beautification and quality of life.

Like CCGH and SPSCG (and stablebrooklyn and span) they also have set up a yahoo newsgroup: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/windsorterracealliance/

Let’s welcome our new community activist neighbors into the fold. I look forward to working with them as the CCGH newsgroup (and website, I promise soon!) will expand it’s role outside of housing/development issues, adding many of the same quality of life issues the WTA is attempting to rally around (and I know SPSCG is also looking past the rezoning and housing advocacy into a broader civic group).

Take a moment to check out their site and even join their newsgroup.
