Friends of Newkirk Plaza present
Greening the Plaza Day!
Saturday May 5th, 2012
Raindate Sunday May 6th, 2012
9am-3pm
On Newkirk Plaza

Friends of Newkirk Plaza, with enormous support from Flatbush Development Corp., has raised money from many members of our community to fill the empty giant tree planters and hanging
flower boxes on the newly renovated Newkirk Plaza. We need you, our neighbors, to put on your overalls, bring your shovels and join us for our “dig in” to green Newkirk Plaza. We will be planting trees in ten round planters and twenty hanging flower and plant boxes from
initital soil and compost to a finishing mulch under the direction of expert gardener Susannah Laskaris.

We’re looking for volunteers for 9am-noon or noon-3pm and we really love anyone who can stay the whole time. We also ask you to bring shovels, wheelbarrows, cultivators, spades, pocketknives,
watering cans and gloves so we’re well prepared for our job. Please mark your tools with your name and phone number.

Please RSVP to [email protected] to let us know when you can dig with us and what tools
you can bring.

Thank you for bringing pride and Victorian beauty back to the Plaza!
