Restoration of Landmark Townhouse in Sunnyside Gardens Wins NYS AIA Award

Friend of HDC and Architect Laura Heim writes: “I wanted to share with you the page from the AIANYS Awards publication which recognizes my recent award winning project in Sunnyside Gardens. Every AIA member in the state of NY received this publication earlier this week and I have received numerous e-mails from colleagues expressing their delight that a “modest” project won such an prestigious award. It is good for preservation, Sunnyside Gardens and Queens.
Hopefully, it will inspire more architects to continue their efforts with homeowners to do the right thing in renovations. Small practitioners are especially impressed they gave this project an award given the line up of superstars who typically win.”
Laura will be one of the presenters at the HDC Conference in March.
