The Staten Island Museum presents:

 Abel Kiviat, National Champion Twentieth-Century Track & Field and the Melting Pot Book Signing, Sunday, October 18, 2009, 2 p.m. Free. Call 718/483-7105 to register.

 Discussion and book signing with author Alan S. Katchen on the life of Curtis High School track star Abel Kiviat, who set a world record and was an Olympic medalist in the metric mile. Presented in conjunction with the Jewish Historical Society of Staten Island. Books will be available for sale. Event takes place at the History Archives and Library, Snug Harbor Cultural Center Campus, 1000 Richmond Terrace.

 Fact filled presentation focusing on Native American, Slave, and the “buried over” Quarantine Station cemeteries. Homestead graveyards, the one and only Vanderbilt Mausoleum, and the long forgotten “Old French Church” are a small sampling of what will be featured. Presented by Curator of History Patricia M. Salmon. Event takes place at the Tony Dapolito Recreation Center of New York City Parks, 3 Clarkson Street at 7th Avenue South, Manhattan

 Assemble your team of Staten Island trivia buffs, or come out and cheer for your favorite team. Music by the Wahoo Skiffle Crazies. Event takes place at Spiro Hall, Wagner College, One Campus Road.
